Telly Buzz had reported that Balaji Telefilms' long-running association with Star will get extended with a new show based on the adaptation of Twilight on Star One.
The latest is that Ekta Kapoor and Star Plus will once again come together with a show based on a love story, which will launch sometime in May.
According to our source, "Apart from Twilight a bizarre love story that is being planned for Star One, Balaji Telefilms is also working on a love story for Star Plus. The untitled project is in its scripting phase, but auditions are on to find the cast".
The show is about a girl and a boy, who are great friends in childhood and fall for each other as years pass by.
A little birdie tells us that, "Many known actors were auditioned for the role of the male lead. But Harshad Chopra the blue-eyed boy of Ekta Kapoor who made it big with Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil on Star Plus has been short listed for the role. Though nothing has been put on papers at the moment, it looks like Harshad Chopra has almost been finalized to play the male lead. The hunt is on to find a fresh face to play the female lead".
When contacted, Harshad Chopra laughed at the news and said, "You are giving me this news. If this happens, I will be excited. But frankly speaking, nothing has been decided; they need to approach me first, then I have to go thro' the script and only after that, I will be able to decide".
However, Doris Dey, Creative Head, Balaji Telefilms told us, "Yes,Harshad Chopra is one of the strong contenders to get the role in the new Star Plus show. But nothing has been decided yet".
The show is expected to launch sometime in May at a prime time slot.

Child actor Devarsh Thakkar has been finalized to play the younger version of Harshad Chopra’s character in Balaji’s upcoming show Tere Liye on Star Plus.
TellyBuzz was the first to report that Harshad Chopra, who was last seen in Balaji's Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil was approached to play the lead in the upcoming Balaji and Star Plus' show Tere Liye.
However, things looked bleak for a while as Harshad apparently demanded a high sum for this show, which put things in a balance.
According to our source, "The production house had in fact started looking for a fresh face for the lead role. But the latest is that, the production house has managed to talk to Harshad and he has agreed to play the role. Harshad apparently suited the character perfectly, and the production house wanted him to do the show at any cost".
The story will focus on three brothers, of whom Harshad will play one of the brothers. Two newcomers have been finalized to play the other two brothers. The female lead has not been finalized yet.
When contacted, Harshad Chopra refused to comment anything.
Harshad Chopra will enter the show only after the initial 20-30 episodes as per the script. And the younger version of Harshad will be the prime focus till the leap happens.
According to our source, "The little guy Devarsh Thakkar who was earlier seen in Star Plus' Baa Bahu aur Baby as Mehul has been finalized to play the younger version of the male lead".
When contacted, Devarsh said, he confirmed the news that he is a part of Balaji show but refuse to give any detail about his character.
Tere Liye is supposed to launch sometime in June, at a prime time slot.

Mukul aka Shakktii Aroraa of Zee TV’s Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo will soon be seen in Balaji’s upcoming show on Star Plus, Tere Liye… The list of new serials to be launched post IPL seems like a never ending rope, and so is Balaji Telefilms, in the quest of giving the audience yet another show on Star Plus, Tere Liye.
TellyBuzz had recently reported that Harshad Chopra has been finalized to play the lead in the show, and playing his younger version is Devarsh Thakkar. Joining the cast now will be Shakktii Aroraa who has almost been finalized to play a pivotal role in the show.
According to our source, "Shakktii Aroraa who was recently seen essaying a negative role in Zee TV's Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo has been finalized to essay a meaty role".
The story will revolve around three brothers, and Shakktii is expected to play one of the brothers.
When contacted, Shakktii Aroraa refused to comment. He essayed the role of Mukul in Zee's Agle Janam.
The production house plans to start shoot from May 16th, but all depends on the finalization of the rest of the cast. The female lead for the show has not been finalized yet.

Rajat Tokas became a very popular name courtesy his portrayal of Prithviraj Chauhan in the Star Plus show. We had reported earlier that Rajat is all set to play the younger version of Keshav Pandit in Balaji Telefilms' upcoming show on Zee TV, and that his stint there will be for one or two episodes only.
However, Balaji Telefilms has now given the young lad a prominent role in their upcoming show on Star Plus, titled Tere Liye.
According to our source, "The production house always had plans of giving Rajat Tokas a meaty role in one of their upcoming shows. It seems as though they had the big plan of casting Rajat in their Star Plus show Tere Liye, even when they brought him to play a brief cameo role in Zee TV's Keshav Pandit".
TellyBuzz has been giving its readers regular news on the cast finalized for Tere Liye. While Harshad Chopra will play the main lead, Rajat Tokas will play the parallel lead in the show. Auditions for the female lead are still on.
As per our source, "The story will revolve around a love track between the characters of Harshad Chopra, the female lead and Rajat Tokas. The story is set in a Bengali backdrop".
Nikhil Arya who was earlier seen in Kesar and Choona Hai Aasmaan is also part of the show.
"Nikhil Arya will play the brother-in-law of the three brothers. Shakktii Aroraa who was seen in Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo will play the female lead's brother in the show", informs our source.
When contacted, Rajat Tokas confirmed the news and said, "Yes, I am part of the show. However I cannot give you details on my character as of now. All I can say is that this is a very good show to be part of (smiles)".
We tried calling Nikhil Arya, but he remained unavailable.

Now, buzz is that apart from taking up the coveted 10 pm slot on Star Plus, the story of her show is similar to an upcoming prime time daily on Colors.Kapoor refused to speak on the matter, but sources say that the plot of her show, Tere Liye, toplining Harshad Chopra, is similar to Siddharth Tewary’s upcoming show on Colors, which will also occupy a prime time slot.
“Somehow the storyline of our show got leaked and reached the Balaji team. Since it’s a very competitive environment, Ekta’s team worked at a fast pace and came up with the show. From what we have heard, Ekta’s show will revolve around a couple that lives in the slums of Mumbai and is in love since childhood. In hers, the kids, Taani and Anurag, grow up within the first four-five weeks of the show’s run, in the typical 1970s Manmohan Desai style of films. In ours, the kids remain kids for a prolonged period,” says a source from Swastik Pictures. Neha debuted on television with character of Chuttu in Bhagyavidhata. This is her second show. Big B's Muqaddar Ka Sikandar to be remade?Making a comeback to her pet channel, Star Plus, has become a task of sorts for the soap queen whose next big show for the channel’s 10 pm slot, is Tere Liye, top lining Harshad Chopra and a newcomer. Even before the show takes off, which reportedly happens only next month, Tere Liye has been marred by controversies.
The most recent one is that sources from Swastik Pictures claim that her show is similar to an untitled project of theirs, which is being produced for a prime time slot on Colors. It’s also being said that both the shows draw from the hit Muqaddar Ka Sikandar (1978), top lining Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Rakhi, Vinod Khanna and Amjad Khan.
When asked, Ekta Kapoor, fuming under her breath, says that she’d never lift the story of a film to turn it into a TV show. “There’s no dearth of good writers and imaginative story ideas. I agree that a lot of times you find kitchen politics in more than one show of mine, and sometimes you may find common cultures, for instance Sarvagun Sampanna and Pavitra Rishta are both based on Maharashtrian families, but even then, none of my shows draw any content from a movie and they don’t look similar to each other in any way,” she states firmly.

Kapoor rubbishes all the rumours of her show having any similarity with Tewary’s. “I don’t need to copy any newcomer production team’s ideas. Actually, I don’t need to copy in the first place. I know of hundreds of others who’ve grown, flourished and made big bucks by copying my style of work. Anyone who claims that my team or I have copied an idea from Swastik Pictures needs a mental check up. It’s a cheap way of pulling me down,” she rues, agreeing that the industry is extremely competitive and she’s bearing the brunt of it all.
A source from Balaji informs that Kapoor had flimsily discussed the idea of an epic love story with a different Mumbai background with her friend Gayatri, who is married to Tewary currently. “Ekta and she are friends. She discussed the idea with her eight to ten months ago and then dropped it for reasons best known to them. Gayatri quit and now, rumours surface that Ekta has stolen Siddharth’s idea, which is incorrect. We’re hoping they both turn out to be different shows altogether,” adds the source.
When asked whether her show has anything to do with Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, she laughs, “I love the movie because it’s a masala (entertaining) film, it was a big blockbuster and of course, it had some of the finest actors of the Hindi film industry in it. But that doesn’t mean that I will lift its story and make a daily soap out of it.”
It’s rumoured that Tewary’s show, supposedly inspired by the 1970s hit for Colors, might not see the light of the day at all. A source from the channel, on the condition of anonymity says, that though Tewary has made several rounds of the channel’s office, his show is not likely to go on air.
“Meetings happen all the time. That doesn’t mean the show has been given the green signal,” adds the source.

It has been destined that Anupriya Kapoorbe part of Ekta Kapoor's family. What if things went wrong when she was chosen as the lead of Bayttaab Dil Kee Tamanna Hain, the girl has now been offered a second chance of working with Balaji Telefilms in one of Ekta's biggest projects to come, Tere Liye on Star Plus.
According to our source, "The production house had lots of options for the lead role. But none of them materialized, and hence the shoot was also delayed. Sreejita De was one of the actors who came close to signing the contract to play Thani, but that too did not happen for certain reasons. And it is Anupriya who was last seen in Star One's Miley Jab Hum Tum who has been finalized. She has given her final look test, and is all set to start shoot".
When contacted, Doris Dey, Creative Head confirmed that Anupriya is the lead in the show.
Anupriya Kapoor too told us, "Yes, I am playing the lead role in Tere Liye. I have not started shoot yet, and am eagerly looking forward to it".
Probe her more on her supposed first innings with Balaji thro' Bayttaab, and she says, "Bayttaab is a closed chapter for me. Miley Jab Hum Tum gave me a foundation, and I have got a good role in Tere Liye".
Anupriya Kapoor and Harshad Chopra play the leads, Thani and Anurag who love each other from their childhood days.

Both Harshad and Rajat have featured as the leads of Star Plus’ Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil and Dharti Ka veer Yoddha – Prithvi Raj Chauhan respectively. And the channel has finalised actress Anupriya Kapoor as the female lead of the show. She was also seen in Sssshh.. Phir Koi Hai.
Informs a source, “The show will be a triangle love story between Anupriya, Harshad and Rajat. Other actors who will be seen on the show are Nikhil Arya, Neha Janpandit, Neha Saxena and Shakti Arora. The show is set to launch in the second week of June and is set against the backdrop of Kolkata.”
Doris Dey, Creative Head of the show, confirmed and said, “Yes, Anupriya Kapoor is the protagonist of the show. This isn’t a romantic show and has a unique concept which I can’t divulge as yet.”

Neha Janpandit the face of Star Plus' Shraddha is back in action!! She will be seen in Star Plus and Balaji Telefilms' upcoming show, Tere Liye.
The actress will also be seen in an episodic in Star One Horror Nights, and the episode will air this weekend.
According to our source, "In Tere Liye, Neha Janpandit will be the other love interest of the protagonist Anurag, played by Harshad Chopra. There will be a love triangle where Anurag from childhood loves Thani (Anupriya Kapoor), but circumstances force him to fall in love with another girl; and this character will be played by Neha".
When contacted, Neha Janpandit confirmed the news and said, "Yes, I am part of Tere Liye. However, I do not know much on my character".
Doris Dey, Creative Head too confirmed that Neha Janpandit is part of the show.
Neha will also feature in this weekend's episodic of Star One Horror Nights, where she plays a college going girl. "The taking of the show was brilliant, and I have finished my shoot for the episodic. It is about three college girls, and how a ragging incident in college changes their lives", informs Neha.

We spoke to Neha Janpandit who said, “Yes, I am doing Tere Liye and I don’t have my character briefing as yet but I know that it is a love triangle. It feels great to work again with STAR Plus and I am glad to be back.”
In Tere Liye, Neha Janpandit will be the other love interest of the protagonist Anurag, played by Harshad Chopra. There will be a love triangle where Anurag loves Thani (Anupriya Kapoor) from childhood but circumstances force him to fall in love with another girl and this character will be played by Neha.
We then tried to get in touch with Doris Dey, creative head of the show he confirmed that Neha Janpandit is a part of Tere Liye.
Apart from Neha Janpandit,Harshad Chopra, Anupriya Kapoor and Rajat Tokas actors like Nikhil Arya will play the brother-in-law of the three brothers. Shakktii Aroraa, who was seen in Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, will play the female lead's brother in the show.

New Delhi, June 1 (IANS) The title of Ekta Kapoor's latest offering for STAR Plus - 'Taryay Liyay' isn't as hard to pronounce as it seems. It's 'Tere Liye' with its spelling twisted a bit to suit the numerology-obsessed television czarina.
After the success of many of her shows like 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' and 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki' on STAR Plus, Kapoor is making a comeback to the channel with this intense love story going on air June 14.
''Taryay Liyay' presents a whole new perspective on love stories, with the core thought being love ennobles you and makes you a bigger and better person,' Ekta, managing director of Balaji Telefilms, said in a press release.
'Balaji Telefilms and STAR Plus have always partnered to bring superlative television experience for its viewers. We expect this show to find resonance with our audience and does well like our other shows on the channel,' she added.
The channel's bosses are equally excited about collaborating with Ekta again.
'We are pleased to work with Ekta Kapoor, one of the best creative minds in the industry. She has produced some of the iconic shows for us in the past and we hope 'Taryay Liyay' will prove to be one such show,' said Anupam Vasudev, executive vice president (Marketing), STAR India Pvt Ltd.
The show is set in Kolkata and revolves around two protagonists Taani and Anuraag who are separated by circumstances and reunited by their love.Harshad Choprawho was last seen in 'Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil', and Anupriya Kapoor will be seen in the lead roles.

| Harshad Chopra is backHarshad Chopra who shot to fame as Prem of Kis Desh Hai Meraa Dil and swept his female fans off their feet, was on a self-imposed break after his show went off-air in February. “Yes, I am back with Balaji and STAR Plus which means that I am back to work again. It’s a nice feeling to get back to work. I can’t sit idle at home for long so it is a great feeling that I am working again. I am in a relaxed mode while I am at work and get tired sitting idle and jobless at home.”
Tell us about your character Anuraag in Tere Liye?
“Anuraag is a normal human being. He is neither God nor devil. He like any other guy is both good and bad but definitely not negative. He can be over possessive at times and is also loving, caring and respecting. He will be seen growing up on the show which is about his journey of knowing love to understanding love and then about forgetting everything else in the world for love. This is a transition from childhood till death. “As I said this is a journey from childhood to adolescence to old age. Looks too are going to vary as per the transition in the character. Anuraag will grow up from a kid to become a fat guy and then to a handsome and fit guy, who stands out from the crowd. “Anurag is very different from Prem. The latter understood love and knew what it is. But Anurag doesn’t know what love is? It’s his journey to know and understand love. He feels content just with the feeling of being in love.”
Haven’t you stuck with lover boy image?
“Infact, I started my career as a negative character named Karan in Mamta which was followed by Left Right Left where I was seen as Ali and then the character of a light romantic guy, Akshat (Ambar - Dhara) happened to me. Prem was a complete romantic character, so technically this is my second show as a lover boy. “I am sure they will understand the demand of the show and like our pair. Basically by the end of it what really matters is a good story and concept. If the show is good and your chemistry with your co-actor looks convincing, people start liking it. Initially, they might be a little reluctant but once they like the characters and grow fond of them, the pair will become a hit. You never know that by the end of it they would want me to pair up with Anupriya for another show. Harshad Chopra is back to steal the thunder in television with Star Plus' and Balaji's Tere Liye.
Harshad shares he is glad to be getting back to work again. He refuses to define something so poignant as love citing that is not mature enough to do so. The actor also goes on to speculate about his fans' reactions to him getting paired with Anupriya Kapoor rather than Additi Gupta.

Yes, back with Balaji, back with a role, back to work again. I'm a person who cannot sit at home for too long. So when Ekta Mam offered me the role…I was more than happy to play it.
Tell us about your character Anurag.
Anurag is a very simple person. In short he is not God, he is not Devil. He is human and has all the tendencies of human nature. He has equal amount of good qualities and bad qualities. He is loving and caring. His journey comprises of the knowing of love and the understanding of love. The story would portray his transition from childhood to adulthood maybe even span up to portray his death.
How will the little Anurag be different from the grown one and who will portray it?
The character of little Anurag will be portrayed by Devesh Thakkar. Little Anurag, as per my knowledge will be really chubby, he will be a fat rasgulla kind of a guy and the grown up one will be lean and handsome (smiles).
How is this character similar or different from Prem?
I cannot compare Prem and Anurag. Anurag is very different from Prem. For Anurag it's the journey of love that counts…
It seems you are the new blue eyed boy of Ekta Kapoor…
I'm not the blue eyed boy of Ekta Kapoor…there is nothing like that…
Did you shoot in Kolkata?
Yes, we have shot in Kolkata for the promos. It was necessary for the show to capture the essence of Bengal so we did picture some of the locations. (They shot around Victoria, Kaali ghaat, around the trams and in the boats).The whole story is based in Kolkata so it couldn't be that we could avoid shooting there.
Do you regret not being a part of Zara Nachke Dikha?
No, I don't regret being a part of Zara Nachke Dikha. I don't know why people keep asking that but honestly I never was inclined towards that project.
Is it true you love sleeping?
Yes, I looove sleeping…my days are remarkably full of it. But now it won't be so once the shooting for the episodes begin…
Harshad your fans were eager to see you onscreen with Additi. Do you think your pairing with Anupriya Kapoor will be accepted by them?
I'm sure they'll understand. We are actors. We are not attached and can't be together in each and every show. However, I empathize with their situation because they have been seeing us together almost every day on the screen. So they get attached to us, it's understandable. Maybe right now they'll fight even the slightest hint of affection they might feel for Anurag and Taani. But I'm sure as the days go by and they keep watching us, we would start to grow on them. Sooner the subconscious mind would begin to work and one day they will realize that they actually want to watch Anurag and Taani.
Tell us about the first time you fell in love.
The first time I fell in love was when I was in fourth standard. It was with a girl in my class. She had straight long hair and I don't know there's this thing about them that attracts me so much. I used to follow her everyday to school. Even after school I used to follow her till we had a common route.
